Have you ever suffered from low back pain?

Studies show that around 15 million Italians suffer from it and almost all of us suffer from at least two rather disabling episodes of back pain in our lives.
With ‘lumbago’ we identify soreness or real pain in the lumbar or lumbosacral region. Instead, we speak of ‘lumbosciatica’ when the pain radiates to part or all of the leg due to involvement of the sciatic nerve, usually caused by a herniated disc.

The most common causes of low back pain are:

–  an incorrect and prolonged posture;
–  activities involving heavy loads to be lifted or handled for long periods;
–  poor spinal support muscles, such as those of the core (abdomen, back and buttocks);
–  physiological degenerations.
After contacting your doctor for an accurate medical check-up, practicing physical activity can be a valid help in preventing or alleviating back pain.
By making exercise a daily habit, you can significantly improve the quality of your life, both physically and mentally.
Pilates and Yoga are activities particularly suitable for strengthening and lengthening the muscle groups responsible for supporting the spine.
